Wash your pumpkin: Start by washing your pumpkin thoroughly. You want to give it a good scrub with warm soapy water to remove any dirt, spores and foliage.
Cut the top of the pumpkin: With a sharpe knife cut a circle on the top of your pumpkin circling around the center of the pumpkin. Just as you would a jack-o-lantern.
Pull out the pumpkin guts and seeds: Remove as much as the inside as the pumpkin as possible. Remember to save your pumpkin seeds for planting the next year!
Spray the inside of the pumpkin: You will want to spray a generous amount of diluted bleach on the inside and top of your pumpkin. This will help extend the life of your pumpkin and prevent premature rotting.
Place the vase inside the pumpkin: Once you have sprayed your pumpkin, place a vase of water inside the pumpkin, you want to choose a vase that doesn’t stick out too far out of the top of the pumpkin.
Arrange the flowers: This is the fun part! Now, arrange your flowers inside your pumpkin table centerpiece. Cut the stems of your flowers short enough so they just stick out from the top of the pumpkin to create fullness. Keep placing until you are happy!
