Equipment

  • 1 Pair of scissor
  • 1 Glue or tape
  • 1 Paper cutter optional
  • 1 Printer

Ingredients

  • 1 roll kraft paper or 28 kraft seed packets
  • 3 pages label paper
  • 1 piece cardstock

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Seed Packet Template: Using the template provided, print the template directly onto the kraft paper or on cardstock to use as a tracing template. Ensure your printer settings are adjusted for the thickness of the paper.
  2. Cut Out the Template: Use scissors to carefully cut out the seed packet template along the lines provided
  3. Fold the Seed Packet: Fold the packet along the lines indicated on the template. Typically, this involves folding the side flaps inwards, the bottom flap up, and the side flap inwards. Make crisp folds for a neat finish.
  4. Glue or Tape the Packet: Apply glue or tape to the side flaps and the bottom flap to secure them in place. Be careful not to use too much glue or tape, as it can make the packet look messy.
  5. Fill with Sunflower Seeds: Once the glue or tape is dry, gently open the top flap and fill the packet with a few sunflower seeds.
  6. Seal the Packet: Fold the top flap down and seal it with a small piece of tape, or apply a dab of glue. Make sure the packet of seeds is fully sealed to prevent any seeds from falling out.
  7. Prepare and Apply the Labels: If you’re using my label template, print the labels on adhesive paper for easy application. We used this label paper. If you’re making handmade labels, cut pieces of kraft paper or label paper into your desired shape and write your message. You can use markers, pens, or even stamps to decorate. Attach the label to the front of the seed packet. Make sure it’s centered and straight.
  8. Finishing Touches: You can add additional decorations to your seed packets, such as tying them with a small piece of twine or ribbon, or adding stickers or stamps for a fun touch!
