It is apple season and if you haven’t noticed already, I am all about apple recipes. I just recently posted about my Homemade Apple Sauce for Canning last week. This week I purchased a jug of fresh apple cider and just knew I had to make a cocktail. I was inspired by this Mule but added my own twist to it. This Apple Harvest Mule is the perfect cocktail for early fall. It is sweet, refreshing, and has a little bit of spice.

A Classic Moscow Mule

A traditional Moscow Mule is a classic cocktail that has been popular since the mid-20th century. It’s known for its distinctive copper mug and a refreshing combination of vodka, ginger beer, and lime juice. The combination of the spicy ginger beer, the bite of the vodka, and the tartness of the lime juice makes for a refreshing and balanced cocktail. The copper mug is often used not only for its aesthetic appeal but also because it can keep the drink colder for longer.

If you don’t have a copper mug you can still enjoy this harvest apple mule in a rocks glass, or any cocktail drinking glass. I serve our apple harvest moscow mule in our vintage stem glasses.

How to Make an Apple Harvest Mule

  1. Pour a bit of lemon juice into a shallow dish. I used a small salad plate. In another shallow dish mix together the cane sugar and cinnamon.
  2. Take your glass and dip the rim in the lemon juice followed by the sugar mixture. Repeat if necessary. Set your glass aside and repeat with other glasses.
  3. Add your ice to your glass and pour 1 oz of vodka over the ice. Add in your ginger beer, and lemon juice, and top with a generous splash of fresh apple cider.
  4. Add your garnish and serve!
